Day 1: Kathmandu to Rasuwa Gadi

Driving distance: Approx. 145 km | 6-7 hours

Depart Kathmandu in the morning and drive north through scenic mountain roads toward the Nepal-Tibet border. Pass traditional villages, terraced farmlands, and lush valleys along the Trishuli River before arriving at Rasuwa Gadi, the main border crossing between Nepal and Tibet.

Overnight: Rasuwa Gadi

Day 2: Rasuwa Gadi to Gyirong

Driving distance: Approx. 25 km | 1 hour

After completing immigration and customs procedures, cross the border into Tibet and meet your Tibetan guide and driver. Continue to Gyirong Town, situated in a beautiful valley surrounded by forested mountains. The relatively low altitude and mild climate make Gyirong an ideal place to begin acclimatization for your Tibetan journey.

Overnight: Gyirong

Day 3: Gyirong to Saga

Driving distance: Approx. 450 km | 7-8 hours

Travel across the vast Tibetan Plateau toward Saga. Along the way, enjoy magnificent views of the Himalayan mountain range, high-altitude grasslands, and remote Tibetan settlements. Depending on weather conditions, several snow-capped peaks can be seen in the distance.

Overnight: Saga

Day 4: Saga to Lake Manasarovar to Darchen

Driving distance: Approx. 500 km | 8-9 hours

Continue westward across western Tibet. En route, enjoy spectacular views of the barren plateau landscapes and distant mountain ranges. As you approach the Mount Kailash region, pass by the sacred Lake Manasarovar and stop at a viewpoint to admire its brilliant blue waters from afar. On clear days, the lake forms a stunning contrast against the surrounding mountains and the rugged highland scenery.Continue to Darchen, the starting point of the Mount Kailash trek.

Overnight: Darchen

Day 5: Darchen to Dirapuk Trek

Trekking distance: Approx. 13 km | 5-7 hours

Begin the Mount Kailash Kora from Darchen. Follow the valley beneath towering mountains and pass prayer flags, mani walls, and pilgrimage sites along the route. As the trek progresses, enjoy increasingly impressive views of Mount Kailash. Arrive at Dirapuk Monastery, where the magnificent north face of Mount Kailash stands directly before you.

Overnight: Dirapuk Guesthouse

Day 6: Dirapuk to Zutulpuk Trek

Trekking distance: Approx. 22 km | 8-10 hours

Today is the most challenging and rewarding day of the Kailash Kora. Ascend to Dolma La Pass (5,630m), the highest point of the trek, marked by countless prayer flags and offerings left by pilgrims. Descend past the sacred Gauri Kund Lake before continuing through dramatic valleys toward Zutulpuk Monastery.

Overnight: Zutulpuk Guesthouse

Day 7: Zutulpuk to Darchen Trek, and Visit Lake Manasarovar

Trekking distance: Approx. 8 km | 3-4 hours

Complete the final section of the Kailash Kora by trekking through a broad valley back to the roadhead, where your vehicle will meet you. Drive back to Darchen and continue to Lake Manasarovar. Spend time along the lakeshore, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and spectacular views of Mount Kailash reflected in the crystal-clear waters.

Overnight: Darchen

Day 8: Darchen to Saga

Driving distance: Approx. 500 km | 8-9 hours

Leave Mount Kailash behind and begin the return journey across the Tibetan Plateau. Retrace the scenic route through western Tibet, passing vast grasslands, river valleys, and remote nomadic settlements before arriving in Saga.

Day 9: Saga to Gyirong

Driving distance: Approx. 450 km | 7-8 hours

Continue driving south toward Gyirong. As the landscape gradually changes from the dry Tibetan Plateau to greener valleys near the Himalayas, enjoy one final day of spectacular mountain scenery.

Overnight: Gyirong

Day 10: Gyirong to Kathmandu

Driving distance: Approx. 175 km | 7-8 hours

After breakfast, complete border formalities and cross back into Nepal. Continue the scenic drive to Kathmandu, where the tour concludes.
