The remainder of the day is dedicated to acclimatization – rest well, stay hydrated, and allow your body to adjust to the high altitude.

Visit the magnificent P

Depart Lhasa for a scenic drive to Shigatse, passing through spectacular landscapes.

Stop at the turquoise waters of Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s three sacred lakes, where you’ll visit rural families and enjoy a traditional farm lunch. Continue past the impressive Karola Glacier before arriving in Gyantse, then proceed to Shigatse, Tibet’s second-largest city.

Wake early for sunrise views (if weather permits) of Everest before visiting Rongbuk Monastery, the world’s highest monastery.

Then begin your descent toward the Nepal border. (Please note: currently the Zhangmu border is being used due to damage at the Gyirong bridge).

The journey offers dramatic changes in landscape as you descend from the high plateau.
